What's the best shampoo for greasy hair and an oily scalp?
We'd point you to Sebum Control Shampoo Plus. It gives a thorough clean, clearing surplus oil and build-up while still respecting the scalp's natural balance, so hair stays light and fresh for longer. If your oily scalp also flakes, have a look at our dandruff range, where Dandruff & Scalp Care Shampoo Plus and Dandruff Balance Plus are designed for flaky scalps.
Is it OK to wash greasy hair every day?
Yes, provided your shampoo is gentle on the scalp. A harsh product used daily often makes the grease come back sooner. Wash instead with a balanced formula such as Sebum Control Shampoo Plus and use a leave-in treatment between washes; over time, many people find they can go longer between wash days.
My roots get greasy but my ends are dry. What should I use?
Look after the two zones separately. Use Sebum Control Shampoo Plus and concentrate it at the roots, then work Sebum Balance Plus into the scalp. Your dry lengths want something different: a conditioner or mask from our Bio-Repair range, applied from the mid-lengths down to the ends and no higher.
How soon will my roots look less greasy?
Most people notice fresher-looking roots in the first few weeks, and a steadier balance usually settles in after 4–8 weeks or so of regular use. The scalp continues to improve the longer you keep going, so it's worth thinking in terms of around 90 days.
Can I use this range if my scalp is red, scaly or constantly itchy?
Redness, thick scaling or an itch that won't settle can be signs of a skin condition, and that needs a GP or dermatologist to look at it before you try anything new. Our products are dermocosmetic care for oily scalps rather than medicines, and plenty of customers use them while following their specialist's advice.
